Great post. We are integrating Twitter into our Digital Signage (Out of Home) Advertising Network. This post clarifies our position to use Twitter as a hyper-local (We call it narrowcasting) tool to drive text on our network.

Great list, Pat. And thanks for mentioning MinnPost's Real-Time Ads -- It does seem to fit the theme of your post. However, Real-Time Ads runs off of RSS, meaning Twitter certainly works, but so does any CMS that produces a valid RSS feed. We're launching more features in the next month, so perhaps Real-Time Ads might get it's very own post in the future? ;)

A friend directed me to a PBS Media Shift article about local advertising posted yesterday: http://www.pbs.org/mediashift/2009/12/5-tools-to-help-automate-local-advertising342.html. I had forgotten to add MinnPost's real time ads.

Our http://instiads.com self-serve ad system includes a Template that pulls in an advertiser's latest Tweet. It's pretty cool. You can see some of the ads rotating through http://capitolhillseattle.com
